So I'm paranoid that my college education will be a waste. I keep reading Bachelor degrees are pretty much High School degrees now; worthless. B.S. in Informatics. Basically the link between humans and computers. Not mindless programmers. You take feedback to design and improve what's already available. Minor in Business, always a nice thing to have. Minor in Computer Science. I started out as a CS Major, but I just can't stand programming. That's why I switched to Informatics, there's very little programming. Minor in Information Technologies. Only needed a couple extra classes for it. My downfall is I just can't program. We did Java, and the mini projects were bad enough. I just don't like it. Is my lack of programming going to hurt me? I'm interested in managing networks and databases and whatnot, analyzing data, that kind of stuff. Just no writing programs. I'm only a sophomore. I won't be getting my masters right after I graduate, I need to start making some income once I'm finished with my degrees. Does it sound like I'm safe for a decent job?... read more
